Sweden’s Annika Sorenstam has retained her Scandinavian TPC title, after a thrilling final day at Bro-Balsta Golf Club, her home course where she has played since the age of 12.


The world number one won by a shot over Mexico’s Lorena Ochoa, as she closed out her defence with an eight-under-par 65, to equal the course record set by Ochoa in Friday’s second round.

 

It was Sorenstam’s 82nd worldwide victory and third of the season.

 

South Africa’s Laurette Maritz picked up just nine birdies in her four rounds of 72, 75, 71, and 75.Her tournament tally over one-over-par 293 saw her finish tied for 34th place with a group of 10.
