Athletes Urged to Enter the Greater Edendale Race

Local athletes and fun-runners have been urged to get their entry in for this weekend’s Greater Edendale Race as soon as possible. The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) will host the much-loved 10km community race on Sunday, 17 November 2019 at the FNB Wadley Stadium for the 13th time since its inception in 2007.

Entries are being taken at Comrades House – 18 Connaught Road, Scottsville, Pietermaritzburg during office hours.

CMA Marketing Manager, Thami Vilakazi says, “Entries will also be taken on race day at the FNB Wadley Stadium from 05h00 to 07h00 but we do urge our runners to enter before then so as to minimise delays on the day.”

The race starts at 07h30 and costs R90.00 for licensed runners whilst unlicensed runners will pay R120.00 which includes a temporary licence. The cut-off time is 2 hours and 30 minutes; and entrants must be 14 years or older.

Prize money totalling more than R20-thousand as well as additional lucky draw prizes are up for grabs whilst T-shirts and medals will be awarded to all finishers.

The event is one of the CMA’s longest running CSI initiatives, which is hosted together with the Msunduzi Municipality, the uMsunduzi Pietermaritzburg Tourism Association (MPTA) and supported by media partner, Msunduzi Eyethu.
