The South African U17 National Women’s Team will report for camp as preparations begin for their second leg 2022 FIFA U17 World Cup away qualifier against Ethiopia on Sunday, 1 May 2022.

Bantwana lost 3-0 to Ethiopia on home ground in the first leg on 15 April 2022 at Wits Stadium, where all the players earned their first ever international caps.

Bantwana Draw Positives from Loss to Ethiopia

Head coach Simphiwe Dludlu is eager to turn the result around in the hope of progressing to the final round of qualifiers for the tournament which will be staged in India later this year.

Dludlu believes that it is not impossible to turn the result around, but it will be a huge task for her young soldiers, especially with all the factors they will be facing this coming week.

“We have called up 22 players for this return leg, with the hope that the players will return with a spirit of hard work.

“The aim is to fight until the final whistle and hope for a positive result,” Dludlu concluded.
