Banyana Banyana returned home to a warm welcome on Tuesday, 26 July 2022 at OR Tambo International Airport after winning the Total Energies Africa Women’s Cup of Nations title in Morocco.
Just hours later, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the players who stood out in the tournament with South Africa, who won all of their matches, dominating the list.
Andile “Sticks” Dlamini, who received the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award after keeping three clean sheets, while conceding just three goals in the the tournament was joined by three other Banyana Banyana stars in the Best XI.
Defender Bambanani Mbane secured her spot in the team after an incredible outing in the South Africans defence.
Joining Mbane and Dlamini, Banyana Banyana captain Refiloe Jane, who was a marvel to watch in the midfield and forward Jermaine Seoposenwe, who played an instrumental part up-front scoring two goals.
