Despite their loss in their opening match against Spain last weekend, Banyana Banyana captain, Janine Van Wyk believes that they have a chance against equally wounded next opponent, China who also lost 4-0 against Germany.
Speaking to Safa.net, Van Wyk, emphasized on the importance of their second FIFA Women’s World Cup game on Thursday (13 June).
“The China match is a do-or-die for us, we really have an important task ahead of us against them.” – Banyana Banyana captain, Janine van Wyk, on Safa.net
“With China losing their opening game against Germany, it’s going to be a tough battle for us. They are going to come out harder than they did against Germany”.
“We need to try and uphold them and obviously we are going to have a set game plan. That will hopefully benefit us. It’s an important game for us to see whether we arr going to make it to the next round”, she said.
Banyana Banyana will face China in their next Group B encounter on Thursday, 13 June.
