Boks Play Netherlands in Dubai Quarters

Captain Mandisa Williams is feeling upbeat about her team’s chances after leading them into the quarterfinals of the inaugural IRB Women’s Sevens Series in Dubai. The Springbok Sevens team will face Netherlands in the quarterfinals of the inaugural IRB Women’s Sevens Series after a good performance on the opening day in Dubai.

They booked their place in the Cup quarterfinals with a comfortable 19-5 win over Brazil in their third match on Friday evening.

Mandisa Williams’ team beat England 20-5 and lost 5-0 to Spain before clinching their spot in the knockout phase with a deserving win over the Brazilians.

In an interview after the win over Brazil, Williams said: “Our performance shows women don’t only want to be in the kitchen.”
