North West’s Bertine Strauss continues to set the local women’s golf circuit alight with her outstanding form.
The 14-year-old from Koster won the Open A Division 0-9 handicap in Strokeplay event at the Boland Ladies Golf Championship which took place at Devonvale Golf Club in Stellenbosch from October 2-4.
Nicole Loesch won the Closed A Division 0-9 handicap with a best gross score of 153 after rounds of 77 and 76, playing off a 2 handicap.
There were 58 players in the field in the A division with participation from Gauteng, North West, Western Province, Eastern Province, and Southern Cape.
They played 36 holes strokeplay on day one with 16 players qualifying in the A division for matchplay.
The Match Play handicap division 0-9 was won by Dominique Jacobs from the Durbanville Golf Club. She beat Nicole Loesch 1-up. Loesch is a member at Strand Golf Club.
Western Province’s Kelly Cyster won the Open B Division 10-19 handicap. Playing off a 16 handicap, Kelly carded rounds of 84 and 88 with a best gross score of 172.
Fleur van der Hoogen won the Match Play B division, beating Lianke Vlok 1up.
Lee-Ann Tiemie from Paarl won the Closed C Division 19-33 handicap while Hermine Greyling won the Junior Closed Division 0-33 handicap.
Enge Knoetze won the Match Play C Division, beating Riana van der Merwe 5 and 3.
