SAPA reports that Boland tops the log after the first three days of the SPAR National Netball Championships, being contested at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth since Monday.
Having won all of their matches played, Boland lead Free State’s three wins to a draw, but the leading teams aren’t taking anything for granted.
National captain Charlene Hertzog said her team were not looking too far ahead, preferring to focus on their biggest rivals Western Province and Boland.
“We are not looking at Saturday yet,” she said. “We have to play North West South and Gauteng East today, and that’s where we will be focusing our attention at this stage.”
“We play them both tomorrow, so that’s going to be a really hard day. But we have a good team spirit and we are very well coached by Burta de Kock. This team has been together for three or four years, so we understand each other well.”
