Caitlin Rooskrantz Adds Another Gold at Africa Champs

Senior gymnast Caitlin Rooskrantz won a gold medal for team South Africa after she was crowned the senior WAG African Champion on the bars at the 16th Annual African Artistic Championships in Cairo, Egypt on Monday, 11 July 2022.

This comes a day after making history becoming the first South African in 8 years to be crowned African Artistic Champion. Her individual performance was Rooskrantz’s personal best in international competitions.

Meanwhile, in the WAG vault competition, compatriot and senior gymnast Naveen Daries took the bronze medal adding to South Africa’s tally at the Championships.

On a day where Team South Africa showed dominance, the podium places continued in the WAGS juniors where Farrah Brett and Caleigh Anders took 2nd and 3rd place on the vault.

In the bars event, Karma Visagie and Anders placed 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.
