American Chloé Dygert successfully reclaimed the world title as the world’s best solo road time trialist, after dominating a 36.2-kilometer circuit which ended in Stirling, on Thursday, 10 August 2023.
Dygert, setting out early, posted a time of 46:59.80, solidifying her impressive performance in the individual road time trial.
Claiming her second gold medal of the UCI World Championships, Dygert’s triumph follows her decisive victory in the individual pursuit on the track just last week, highlighting her exceptional versatility and prowess across different disciplines of cycling.
Claiming the silver medal, Brown trailed 5.67 seconds behind Dygert, showcasing a strong performance. Austria’s Christina Schweinberger secured the podium’s third position, albeit over a minute behind the leader, highlighting the competitive dynamics of the event.
“It’s really special, I’m really honoured to be in this jersey. It’s been the goal for three years so it just feels unbelievable” said the 26 year old Chloe.
Dygert’s prowess extends beyond this victory, as she previously clinched the road time trial world title in Britain back in 2019, leaving a dominant mark on the competition in Harrogate.
