“I have seen a lot of progress during the years, our development is shaping up nicely. We have 14 and 15-year-old players in the squad and they also travelled with us to the national playoffs,” she added.
“We have a few senior players as the team’s focus has shifted to development and recruiting young bloods into team.”
The former Banyana Banyana striker scored a hat-trick in their 3-2 win over Lindelani Ladies in the semi-final, ending the competition with five goals to her name.
“For a defender it was a difficult game for me, but the coach believes in me when it comes to set-pieces.
“We had told ourselves that we were going to Durban to fight and our aim was to play in the Hollywoodbets Super League this season,” she continued.
“So as a team we told ourselves we are here to represent the Eastern Cape and Gqeberha as a whole, so let’s fight, let’s give our all.
“We got a free kick and the coach sent me to kick it because he knows I am a set piece and free kick specialist.
“In the semifinal I received a Women of the Match award because of the hat-trick that I scored. It was not easy there were many up and downs, but as senior players we continued to motivate the youngsters to come to training and also advise them on football as well.
“To be honest I feel happy because these kids look to us as their role models,” she concluded.
