Close Match for SA Against India

The Indian
Women’s hockey team came out on top when they beat  SPAR South Africa by a
close score of 1-0  at the 4 Nations Women’s Hockey Tournament in
Rotterdam, Netherlands on Friday. 

The South
African team dominated the game in the first half, but just could not put the
finishing touches to the ball. South
Africa had most of the possession in the
second half, but the Indians used their chance at the break away when they
forced a turnover in the South African 22 area and pulled the goalkeeper to one
side creating a two against one situation. The ball was slipped to Rani Davi
who made no mistake in netting the ball to take the Indians to a 1-0 lead (55).

A surge of
attacks late in the second half by the South African team was to no avail.

The team will
reflect back on a game of lost opportunities and poor finishes. South Africa will meet India again in the play-offs for the
3^rd and 4^th place on Saturday and will look up to their
game and try to finish their three week tour on a positive note.

In the other
match at the tournament Great Britain
beat hosts Netherlands
3 – 2. These two teams will compete in the final of the tournament on Saturday.
