History was made as 2022 FIFA U17 World Cup debutants Tanzania progressed to the quarter-final round of the competition on Tuesday, 18 October.
The Serengeti Girls had already broken new ground when they became the first side from their country to contest a FIFA competition in any age category.
In their match against the Canadians, it was their opponents who opened the scoring, with Amanda Allen converting from the penalty spot after 14 minutes into the match.
Tanzania went on to pull one back from a corner with Veronica Mapunda securing the equaliser.
The match ended 1-all, in favour of Tanzania who will face Colombia on Saturday, 22 October at 13h00 CAT.
