Celebrated SPAR Proteas assistant coach, Dumisani Chauke, became the first ever female HOD of Sport at the Tshwane University of Technology at Ga-Rankuwa campus.

The announcement, which was shared by TUT, revealed that Chauke’s role commences from 1 July 2021.

Chauke recently joined a prestigious group of South African sporting icons as ambassador of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.

The 34-year-old was also elected to serve on the Confederation of University and Colleges Sports Association (CUCSA) Technical sub-committee, and is currently enrolled for a Master’s Degree in Marketing at TUT.

The founder of the Dumisani Chauke Netball Foundation expressed her gratitude on Twitter, saying: “First Female HOD in the Sport and Recreation Directorate at Tshwane University of Technology. I salute you.”
