2020 Momentum gsport Awards Public Choice winner Awande Malinga continues to dominate on the squash courts, after earning her eighth consecutive NJSA Closed Championship title on Sunday, 14 May 2023.
Since U13, the now Grade 12 learner took part in her final NJSA competition where she walked away with a victory over Jordin Phillips in the final match.
Sharing on her Twitter, Malinga said: “8x Defending NJSA Closed Champion since u13,” as she also thanked her sponsors for backing her along her flourishing career.
