British-Nigerian football executive Eniola Aluko was awarded for her work in football, as she was inducted into the Barclays Women’s Super League Hall of Fame.
Aluko is the first Sporting Director for Angel City FC of the American National women’s soccer league and previously held the position of Sporting Director at Aston Villa Women FC from January 2020 to June 2021.
The former footballer made 102 appearances for the England national team from 2004 to 2016 and competed at the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup in China. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, she represented Great Britain.
Since 2014, Aluko has been part of the television commentary on football, including the FIFA men’s and women’s World Cups.
She retired in 2020 after she last played for Juventus.
