Guests of the 2015 SPAR gsport Awards were pampered from the moment they arrived at the prestigious Wanderers Club on Friday night, thanks to a team of artists from the Estée Lauder Group, which has contributed to the success of the gsport Awards in an elegant and classy way since inception.
The partnership between gsport and Estée Lauder started years back with the Clinique brand, and then moved on to Estée Lauder.
This year, the Estée Lauder Group of Companies partnered the 10th gsport Awards as Beauty Partner once again, making over finalists, award presenters and guests hours before the event got underway.
“Estée Lauder has always found synergy in the message that gsport awards represents. We were founded by a woman, Estée Lauder, and as a brand for women, we believe in the power of women,” said Estée Lauder National Communications Manager, Lulu Ndevu.
Ndevu believes every woman is strengthened by her own unique and individual style. She said their partnership with gsport is inspiring and making a difference for women in sport in the country.
“I think when people get together, as gsport has facilitated all these years to celebrate the achievements of these amazing and dynamic women, we all help to celebrate them and motivate them to be the inspiration they are to other women. So much so that our partnership this year is not only one brand,” she said.
Ndevu says gsport motivated the Estée Lauder Group of Companies to show their full commitment to women in sports by ensuring every guest in attendance at the gsport awards will receive a gift bag from Estée Lauder.
“Guests were pampered by our team of artists, who were on standby from the moment guests arrive to give them quick makeup touch ups and make them feel special,” she said.
Estée Lauder runs the Foundation for the Nation, which is an initiative that assists young girls to achieve their dreams by paying for tuition towards their four-year tertiary degrees. Sixteen girls have benefited from the initiative thus far since its inception in 2010.
“This is our small way of contributing towards women empowerment by educating the girl child,” Ndevu concluded.
Estée Lauder was founded by Josephine Esther Mentzer in 1946 with just four cosmetics. The company has grown tremendously over the past 69 years.
