Entry to MSSA’s 36th Gauteng Provincial Championships for the Street Fighter V esports title again showed solid growth.

The increased participation has allowed seven (7) players to earn their places in MSSA’s 2018 National Team Trials.

What is most encouraging is that out of the players that qualified, three of the seven  are female.
It should also be noted that half of the field at MSSA’s 36th Gauteng Provincial Championships were female. This is the first time in the history of esports, that there has been gender parity in any console title.

The three females who have qualified for MSSA’s 2018 National Team Trials are:

Leoné Loftus

Ester Kanerhe

Natalie Swanepoel

There is no doubt that all three will give the boys a run for their money.
