Farrah’s 1st Free State Open

The women’s events in the Sterling Free State Open Squash Championships hardly saw the top 3 seeds raise a sweat as they moved through to their allotted places in the semi-finals in Bloemfontein.

Free State’s Hesmine du Plessis stood out after causing an upset when she upset fourth seeded Leenta Marx (Border) in four games to enter the semi-finals.

Northerns Farrah Fenner dominated the women’s event to win her first Free State Open title, when she accounted for second-seeded Juanette le Roux (EP) in straight games, with le Roux only managing to contest Fenner to a decider in the second set.

Eighteen-year-old Milnay Louw (WP) finished third, when she defeated Free State’s Hesmine du Plessis in a 27-0 whitewash.
