Silver in Junior Middle Distance

The Southern Region Cross Country Championships were held in Malawi over the weekend, and in a good sign for the future of South African middle distance running, there were good performances by the junior women.

The junior women won the silver medal in the team competition with Praxedis Dim finishing fourth overall and first for South Africa, covering the 6km in 22min and 23sec.

Aleta Phiri finished 10th overall, and led another four South Africans home to make sure that they took home the silver medal.
