All is not lost for the more than 120 nominees who miss the finalists cut when Momentum gsport Awards finalists are announced on Saturday, 1 August.

Nominees who miss out on the shortlist will go into the running for the inaugural #gsport15 Miss Congeniality award, aimed at nominees who continue to show support for finalists vying to own their success on the Momentum gsport Awards stage.

The initiative, aimed at increasing online support for finalists, will reward a nominee that encourages the public to vote, shows significant online support for finalists through retweets, comments, likes and personal posts of support.

gsport Founder, Kass Naidoo, said: “This campaign is steeped in kindness and nominees truly back each other. We feel this latest initiative goes a long way towards honouring them for their selfless efforts to raise the profile of women’s sport. We always talk about women supporting women, here’s an opportunity for us to show what sincere supports looks like.”

A cash prize is on offer for the winner of #gsport15 Miss Congeniality and there will also be runner-up prizes.
