South Africa’s Hannah Newman came out as the top performing junior African triathlete at the 2022 World Triathlon Championships final in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, 26 November 2022.
Newman started the race in 7th position and finished in 12th.
Speaking on her win on her Instagram page, Newman said she was chuffed to end the year with her best performance yet.
Meanwhile, her compatriot Bridget Theunissen finished in 22nd place.
In the elite women’s race, Simone Ackermann was the top performing African triathlete, finishing in 27th place.
