Philippines star weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz won three gold medals in the women’s 55kg division at the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships, on Thursday, 8 December 2022.
The International Weightlifting Federation World Championships runs from 5-16 December in Bogota, Columbia.
Diaz claimed the gold medals after clearing 93kg for snatch and 114kg for clean and jerk, for a total lift of 207kg, beating out Columbian Rosalba Morales 119kg and Mexico’s Ana Gabriel Lopez with a total of 198kg.

The 31-year-old has had this gold evade her in recent editions, winning bronze in the 53kg event in 2015 and 2017, and in the 55kg in 2021.
The World Championships is the first qualification event for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Diaz has also bagged several weightlifting titles, including the Asian Games, Asian Championships, and the Southeast Asian Games.
Gold is now synonymous with Hidilyn Diaz's name. 🥇
