Good four-foot off-shore surf continued at the world-famous Nahoon Reef for Day Two of the 2007 South African Surfing Championships to the delight organisers, as the second round continues in East London.
The very complicated scoring system involved, which allots points only once a surfer is knocked out of the competition, sees the leading regions currently with the least points, as their surfers progress at the tournament.
Both personal and provincial interests are at stake despite the absence of prize money, as Sarah Baum and Danielle le Roux of KZN, and Border girls Nikita Robb and Alice McGregor were the pick in the Under 20 Girls division.
The final day of competition on Sunday will see the championship scoreboard begin to take logical shape, as the best of South Africa’s surfers battle it out in ideal conditions for the highest domestic surfing honours.
