The 2019 IMPI Challenge season closed off on a high note on Saturday, 23 November 2019, with 2400 adventure seekers of all ages toeing the line at the Purple Windmill (Stellenbosch) ready to take on the IMPI Challenge #3.
The IMPI “Competitive” Challenge Women’s Race was won by Lenetia Mundie in a time of 01 hour 14 minutes 10 seconds. Renata Stolze came in second, while Dominique Macnab finished third.
Georgia Alberts (Durbanville) took on the IMPI Challenge with three friends. “This is the fourth time that I’ve taken part in the IMPI Challenge. I like the fact that there is both a running and a strength element. The obstacles were quite challenging, but not that bad. It was a lekker run and there was a lot of gees which helped. The IMPI Challenge is such a good race that tests your ability to do power training, weightlifting and running. It’s an all-rounder.”
“The IMPI Challenge #3 was action-packed from start to finish,” says Pieter du Plessis, IMPI Challenge Race Director. “We would like to thank every single entrant for taking on the challenge. You did it! You are tough enough! We are excited to close the season off on such a high note. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2020 for more IMPI Challenge fun.”
A trail run with a twist, entrants got to spend the day outdoors enjoying a beautiful trail run route that featured a combination of challenging and fun obstacles (natural and/or manmade).
