Kenya’s Joyce Chepkemoi won the Agnes Tirop Memorial Cross-Country World Tour on home soil in Eldore on Saturday, 12 February 2022.
Chepkemoi outclassed a strong elite field which included 2019 World 5000m silver medallist, Margaret Chelimo, as she crossed the 10km finish line in 34:02, just 7 seconds ahead of Chelimo.
Nespine Jepleting completed the podium settling for a bronze medal in 34:22, while Beatrice Chebet placed 4th with an effort of 34:33.
The Agnes Tirop Memorial Cross-Country Championship celebrated its 5th edition of the World Athletics Cross Country Gold Tour. The next gold event is set to be the CrossUp de Hannut in Belgium on Sunday, 20 February 2022.
