Kenya Commercial Bank Sports Club (KCB) defeated Al Ahly Sc 3-1 to claim the 2022 Women’s African Volleyball Championship title in Kelibia, Tunisia on Tuesday, 31 May.
KCB qualified for their 5th championship final after they whitewashed their counterparts Kenya Pipeline Company 3-0 in the semi-finals, while Al Ahly defeated defending champions Club Feminin de Cartage by the same scoreline.
The Japhet Munala coached side showed class and dominance as they powered past the 10-time African champions (25-18, 25-22, 11-25, 28-26) to clinch their second championship title.
In a thrilling bronze medal match, Kenya Pipelines came from behind to secure bronze with a 3-2 (20-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-23, m15-11) victory over Cartage, who struggled to maintain momentum.
