Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies finished top of Group A at the CAF Women’s Champions League Egypt 2026 with a 3-0 win over FUS Rabat, completing an unbeaten group campaign and booking a semi-final place at the Ismailia Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt on Saturday, 7 November 2026.

Bambanani Mbane headed the two-time champions in front in the 25th minute, Nthabiseng Majiya doubled the lead with a composed finish in the 86th and Karabo Dhlamini converted a penalty in the 89th to seal seven points from three matches. Sundowns conceded a single goal in the group.

Boitumelo Rabale set the tone, twice testing the FUS Rabat goalkeeper inside the opening seven minutes, before Mbane rose to head in off the post. Andile Dlamini then preserved the lead with a one-on-one save five minutes before half-time, the only moment the Moroccan debutants threatened to level.

The late goals told the story of a side growing into the tournament. After a goalless draw with hosts FC Masar and a 2-1 win over Lekié Football Filles decided by an 88th-minute own goal, this was Sundowns’ most complete performance in Egypt, and it arrived when the group was there to be won.

In the day’s other match, Lekié beat Masar 2-1 to finish level with the hosts on four points and go through on head-to-head record. The result sent the hosts out and left Sundowns’ win over the Cameroonians as the margin between first and second place.

FUS Rabat, who came through the North African qualifiers unbeaten with 14 goals, leave with one point and without a goal at the finals.

Godfrey Sapula’s selection has held firm. The three changes he made for the second match, bringing in Asanda Hadebe, Nonhlanhla Mthandi and Majiya, stayed in place, and the attacking depth beyond COSAFA Qualifier golden boot winner Refilwe Tholakele showed through Rabale, Majiya and Dhlamini.

Sundowns now wait on Group B, which concludes on Sunday afternoon. Ampem Darkoa Ladies of Ghana lead on six points and need only a draw against holders AS FAR to finish top. AS FAR must beat them to stay in the tournament, while Kawempe Muslim Ladies of Uganda, who beat AS FAR in the opening round, go through with a win over USFAS Bamako if AS FAR fail to win.

Sundowns play the Group B runners-up on Wednesday, 11 November at 17h00. A meeting with AS FAR would revive the rivalry of the 2022 final, which the Moroccans won, and the 2023 semi-final, which Sundowns won 1-0.

The final is at the Suez Canal Stadium on Sunday, 15 November at 17h00, with the third-place play-off on Saturday, 14 November. The champions earn USD 600 000 and a place at the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup 2027.

Sundowns won the inaugural title in 2021 and reclaimed it in 2023, then missed last year’s finals altogether. Speaking to CAFonline in September, Sapula said: “We have tasted the glory and we want more.” Three matches in, Sundowns are two wins from a third star.
