South African leading women’s wheelchair tennis ace Kgothatso Montjane is set to launch her season this week in Great Britain, Wheelchair Tennis South Africa (WTSA) announced on Tuesday.

Montjane jets off today (Tuesday) from OR Tambo International Airport and will begin her excursion at the North West Challenge, an International Tennis Federation (ITF) level 3 event in Preston, Great Britain from 16-19 February.

The world number 10 will move on to contest the USN Bolton Arena, an ITF level 2 event to be staged in Bolton from 21-25 February.

Montjane said she is pumped up to begin a new season after completing a magnificent 2016 with 8 titles in the bag.

“I completed the last season very well and it gave me so much confidence to challenge the new season. I am going to Britain with my head held high and will give it my best shot,” said Montjane.

The Limpopian star bagged her major second US Open Super Series doubles crown, clichéd two titles in Czech Republic and hopes to begin her new season strongly, “I am all set for a great run, and I will be looking to start my year strongly in Britain.”

Participation in events like these is made possible by the game sponsor, Airports Company South Africa who has been the major sponsor of Wheelchair Tennis South Africa (WTSA) for the past twelve years.
