It was a successful weekend for the top two teams in the Eastern Cape Coastal log in the Sasol Women’s League, with Sophakama Ladies are holding firm in first place as they secured a 2-0 win over third-placed Bay Star United at Hearts Field in Summerstrand, Gqeberha, on Saturday, 29 July, 2024. 

Nav Galaxy Ladies also bagged a 2-0 victory at home over Golden Stars Ladies Football Development, which means they are three points behind Sophakama Ladies, who have a game in hand after 10 fixtures this season. 

Kovsies FC have gotten one step closer to taking the title as they sealed a 2-0 win over Central University in the Free State Group 1A, a victory which sees the two log-leading teams separated after having been on the same points in previous weeks. 

Over in the Northern Cape stream, NC Consciousness Ladies are sitting pretty at the top of the standings after their 4-0 win over Pako Ladies FC. 

However, it was second-placed Bodulong United FC who recorded a mammoth 16-0 victory against Sesheng United, a win will go a long way for the log’s second-placed Bodulong, now with now have a better goal difference than NC Consciousness Ladies and just three points behind the leaders. 

Northern Cape Stream B sees log leaders Diamond Ladies continue to sparkle, they got the better of Khs Ladies FC in a 2-0  win on on Saturday which sees them hold on to their narrow lead. Meanwhile, Royal Wizards beat Fast Eleven Ladies FC by the same 2-0 scoreline, the win sees them three points behind Diamond Ladies on 23 points. 

A 4-1 win for Storm Ladies against Silindile Ladies sees them top the the Mpumalanga Stream A, meanwhile Sasol Juventus Ladies are now second on the log following their 1-1 draw against Leandro United FC. 

In Stream B, The Rockets continue to aim for the sky as they got a 5-nil win against Absa Sport Academy FC, which sees them hold a three-point lead over second-placed Super Strikers Ladies FC, who also got a 2-1 win, over Destiny Ladies College FC. 

University of Johannesburg succumbed to a defeat to Future Stars Ladies in Gauteng Stream A, as Mito Ladies continue on the winning path to hold on to top spot after their 2-0 triumph over Mathaithai FC. 

Log leaders FC Raycon Ladies managed to eek out a 2-1 win over JVW FC in Stream B, as Croesus Ladies are keeping up with the top team bagging a 3-1 win over H Zebra Force.
