South Africa’s leading Beach Tennis player Kyla Yelverton from Gauteng earned her second TSA Beach Tennis National Championships title at Clubview Tennis Club in Centurion, Tshwane on Sunday, 5 June 2022.
It was a weekend of riveting beach tennis action at the fourth edition of the competition which saw over 50 players take part.
Yelverton and her partner Laetitia Lourens needed just 32 minutes to dispatch compatriots Tamara Pieters and Celeste Riddick Claassen 6-1, 6-1 to lift the women’s doubles title.
Mogomotsi Sekgobela and Keotshepile Ntlatleng from Hammanskraal won the girls under-18 junior title.
Winners of the national flagship beach tennis event will be invited to be part of the 2022 TSA Beach Tennis National Squad and will be eligible for selection to represent South Africa at the 2022 Beach Tennis World Championships in Brazil later this year.
