South Africa’s top performing swimmer Lara van Niekerk left her best performance for last as she races to gold in the 50m breaststroke event in a meeting record at the first leg of the Mare Nostrum series in Monaco on Sunday, 22 May 2022.
Van Niekerk’s time of 29.90 saw her claim gold after she won silver in the 100m breaststroke on Saturday.
