Leading Ladies Voting Hots Up

Free Internet Voting to decide the 2007 Leading Ladies has been open on the gsport website for two weeks already, and the race to choose the four lucky winners is hotting up.

All you have to do is click here to view the nominees, and click here to make your choice, and you can do it as often as you like! If you just want to check the results, click here!

And if you’re a registered gsport member, you automatically stand a chance of joining us for the 2007 gsport Awards at the exclusive Westcliff Hotel on August 1, when we’ll whisk one lucky gsport member to Jozi for a fun-filled morning with 60 of South Africa’s most influential women!

There are four award categories: Woman of the Year, Woman in Media, Style Star of the Year, and gSTAR (sportswoman) of the Year, and we will also unveil our 2007 Hall of Fame inductee, who will join swimming icon, Penny Heyns, in our gsport Hall of Fame.

Currently, Morning Live’s Leanne Manas is leading the Woman of the Year votes, followed closely by Michelle Botes and Ruda Landman.

In the Woman in Media category, SuperSport’s Cindy Grota is just behind South Africa’s only female rugby analyst, Zeena Isaacs.

East Coast Radio’s Margaret van der Westhuizen is streets ahead in the Style Star category with 32 votes, and swimming sensation Natalie du Toit is leading the votes in the gSTAR category, one vote ahead of golfing sensation Ashleigh Simon.

The winners will be decided by your Internet voting, supplemented by votes to be cast by an elite four-women panel, who will be unveiled next week.

The 2007 gsport Awards kickstarts Women’s Month and it promises to be a memorable event!
