Limpopo to Host Matha Series Athletics

Athletics Limpopo hosts the next Nedbank Matha Half Marathon event in Seshego Township, near the provincial capital of Polokwane on 29 March. The course for the race is relatively flat, and with mild weather conditions expected on the day of the contest, athletes should enjoy running through the biggest township in Limpopo Province.

"We have plotted a flat course through the Seshego townships. This should make a comfortable run for the mass participants looking forwards to an enjoyable outing on the road," says Atlee Maponyane, Limpopo Athletics President.

"At the same time elite athletes expecting to clock impressive times cannot afford to miss this golden opportunity." Entry forms for the event are available at various centers throughout Limpopo province, at the SABC building in Polokwane as well as sports shops in Polokwane.

"Limpopo Athletics has also organized transport for athletes to and from Seshego, Mokopane, Gamatlala, Bochum, Mankweng and Zebediela. We are doing everything possible to make sure the event is a resounding success," Maponyane assured.

Athletes may also get an entry form in Thohoyandou Shopping Centre, Savana, Mapudithamaga Municipality Offices, at the Shoprite Checkers at the Mankweng Shopping Mall, and at various district offices, throughout the province.

Entry forms may also be obtained from Athletics South Africa Offices in Johannesburg. The race forms part of the Nedbank Matha Series, and entries close on 25 March 2008. Entries for the half marathon cost R40 and R10 for the 5km fun run.
