Badminton: Women’s doubles, Group C, pool stage: Michelle Edwards and Annari Viljoen vs Je Ha and MJ Kim (South Korea). Edwards and Viljoen lost 21-8 21-7 in a match that lasted 23 minutes and in which the Koreans used their strong serves to dominate.
Football: Banyana Banyana vs Canada South Africa went down 3-0 to Canada in their Group D match in Coventry after trailing 1-0 at halftime.
Rowing: Women’s pair: Naydene Smith and Lee-Ann Persse finished their heat in fourth behind Australia, in 7min 14.31sec. THey advanced to the repechage.
Swimming: Women’s 400m Individual Medley: Kathryn Meaklim finished sixth in her heat (4:43.46) to be placed 16th overall.
