Sharon Laws Wins Cycle Challenge

British road race champion Sharon Laws became the first international cyclist to win the Momentum 94.7 Women’s Race. Her compatriot Catherine Williamson came second. Cherise Stander was the first South African home in third place.

Champion SA cyclist Cherise Stander (nee Taylor) became the first South African woman to win a 2.1-graded UCI tour stage, on day 1 of the 2012 Route de France, the women’s equivalent of the Tour de France.
