Lorna Trigwell and her team of Cheryl Cox, Lorraine Victor and Sylvia Burns are through to the Quarter-Finals of Women’s Fours in the World Bowls Championship, and will be playing Wales on Thursday morning at 9:00am (New Zealand time).
The Fours team started on Saturday with a series of three wins against the Cook Islands, Spain and Norfolk Island on Sunday, before a loss to Australia preceded wins against Samoa, Canada and Jersey.
Tuesday saw a loss to Scotland before wins against Hong Kong and Swaziland, before a loss to Ireland.
Unfortunately the Singles player, Colleen Webb, failed to qualify for the Singles Quarter-Finals, after scoring losses to England, Cook Islands, Jersey, Fiji and New Zealand, interspersed with wins against Hong Kong, Brunei, Botswana, Spain, Swaziland and Wales.
The Women’s pairs and triples commence on Sunday 20th January, and progress can be followed on the official 2008 World Bowls Championship website.
