Thailand’s Chanettee Wannasaen fired a stunning 9-under 63 to win the Portland Classic in Portland, Ore on Sunday, 4 September 2023.
Wannasaen turned in a bogey-free round at that included seven birdies and one eagle. The 19-year-old rookie finished at 26-under 262 for the tournament, securing her first victory on the LPGA Tour while also becoming just the third Monday qualifier to win a title.
Speaking in her winner’s interview, Wannasaen said: “I’m speechless.
“I really worked hard for this trophy. This is a really beautiful course, and it’s great because I can make a lot of birdies.”

After losing in a playoff on Sunday, 27 August, on the second-tier Epson Tour in Idaho, Wannasaen traveled to Portland to play Monday at Riverside Golf Club, where she earned a spot in the LPGA event by a single stroke.
