After numerous years of service to student sport on local shores and on the continent, Nomsa Mahlangu has been elected as the new President of University Sports South Africa.
This year has been an incredible one for Mahlangu who was previously elected as the President of the Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU) and became the first female to hold that position, while also holding the fort as the Senior Director of the University of Johannesburg Sport.
She has held pivotal roles in leadership positions with being a board member of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, AFCON 2013 as well as CHAN. She also had a role as the South African Football Association NEC Member and the Chairperson of the OC African Woman’s Championship.
Her list of achievements continues to expand, and it is with great pleasure that the USSA announced her election on Saturday, 12 October 2019 at the USSA 25th Celebration awards ceremony. Mahlangu has now taken over from former President, Ilhaam Groeneveld.
