Public Choice winner Mbali Sigidi reveals how winning on the 2021 Momentum gsport Awards stage gave her validation that she is on the right track in her career.
The SuperSport presenter hosted gsport’s Twitter Space Thursday’s first-ever Power of Recognition special, which provides a platform for former awards winners to take the lead every two weeks during the awards campaign.
Speaking on the recognition, Sigidi said: “It was such an incredible recognition! I remember over the past few years I had been nominated in certain categories and I can tell you now, the competition is so stiff when it comes to the Momentum gsport Awards as well as the voting process!
“The recognition from your peers in the industry is absolutely incredible and the validation as well – it just says that you are on the right track because many of us have worked for so many years, we have laid the first layers in our careers where my journey started at Soweto TV, but even before that I used to shadow others,” she added.
“It has not always been an easy journey, so when you finally get recognized by your peers and you are awarded for the hard work, you are reminded of where you started, and it doesn’t seem in vain.”
On the Space, Sigidi also chatted to 2019 Momentum gsport Awards Woman in PR & Sponsorship winner Marisa Calvert, who revealed how was inspired by her recognition.
