Mikaela Shiffrin Equals All-Time Skiing Record in Sweden

Alpine Ski racer Mikaela Shiffrin won her 86th World Cup race, tying the all-time skiing record in Sweden on Friday, 10 March 2023.

Shiffrin matched Ingemar Stenmark’s record despite failing to win any medals in any of her five races at the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022.

This season, she has won 12 World Cups, falling five shy of her own mark of 17 triumphs achieved in 2018–19.

After surpassing Vonn’s women’s record of 82 victories in February, Shiffrin won her seventh gold medal at the Alpine World Championships, making her the most successful skier of the modern era (post World War II).

Shiffrin has 52 victories in slaloms, 20 in giant slaloms, five in super-G, five parallels, three downhills and one Alpine combined.
