Salima Mukasanga Receives Forbes Woman Sports Award Honours

Salima Mukansanga, a Rwandan international referee, got the esteemed Forbes Woman Africa Sports accolade at the 2023 Forbes Woman Africa Awards to honour International Women’s Day in Pretoria on Wednesday, 8 March 2023.

As the 2023 Forbes Africa Women Awards were given out during the Forbes Africa Women Leadership Summit, Mukansanga was among the exceptional women honoured.

The 34-year-old was also named one of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) 100. She made history by becoming the first African woman to officiate at the Men’s Football World Cup in Qatar in 2022. African Women of Influence in 2022.

The Forbes Woman Africa Leading Women Summit, where Mukansanga was honoured, brings together the most influential women in various field such as business, politics, the arts, sports and civil society.
