Top seed Monica Gorny has captured the girls title at the second ITF/Sata Junior Tennis Championships, played at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University courts in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday.
Gorny’s victory in PE follows her lifting the champion’s trophy in the first event in East London during the previous weekend, when she triumphed over Great Britain’s Aimee Gibson 6-2 6-0.
Nobody could stop top seed Monica Gorny in the girls event, as she stormed to a 6-0 6-0 clean-sheets victory over Russian Ekaterina Nikitina, to capture her second successive title.
The weather was near perfect for the final showdown and the wind, that had been so prolific during the quarter-finals, was virtually non-existent on Wednesday.
Gorny has represented South Africa at the Nike Junior Tour International Masters, and was also in Pompadour, France in 2003, where she reached the semifinals of the Plate event.
