Monica Gorny drew a step closer to scoring a double victory in the ITF/SATA Junior tennis tournament at the Nelson Mandela University on Tuesday, after her win in the girls events last week in East London and reaching the final of the second event on Tuesday.
Gorny has been unstoppable in the girls draw, and she continued that fine vein of form by eliminating 11th-seed Demi Schuurs of the Netherlands 6-1 6-1.
She will face 10th seeded Ekaterina Nikitima in Wednesday’s final, after the Russian scored a 6-3 6-3 victory over fifth seeded Joanna Horne from the United Kingdom.
