Nadine de Klerk: “Playing at Home is Very Special”

Momentum Proteas all-rounder Nadine de Klerk shares her excitement, as the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup trophy has been on tour across the country.

Over the past few weeks, a number of the senior national team cricketers have been part of the trophy tour festivities, as we count down the days to the global showpiece.

Speaking to CSA Media, de Klerk shared her views on South Africa hosting next year’s T20 World Cup.

“Obviously, playing at home is very special, and T20 cricket is exciting as well. So, can’t wait to get going.”

When asked what impact the event will have on the country, de Klerk said: “Yeah, I think massive… I think for a lot of the young girls just to show them that women can play cricket as well and hopefully going forward it gets a lot of the young girls to actually take up cricket and play cricket at school level or club level.”
