The Namibian Netball Association has recorded the highest return on investment as revealed by MTC Namibia.

The announcement was made during a one-day engagement workshop where the 12 MTC funded sports codes gathered in Swakopmund on Monday, 7 February 2022.

Netball Namibia Secretary-General, Imelda Nerongo, believes that the high ROI validates that netball is a worthwhile investment.

“This validates the assumption that we have always maintained which is dubbed investing in women is a true investment. Besides in sports, the adage is that women can multiply, and we have proved this to be true by returning with a tripled figure return on investment in one-year investment value made in netball. Truly we are worth this investment.”

“The association intends to maximise their marketing strategies. It is not just about the game, many are getting a significant income from this sponsorship and we believe that people should know through MTC and this investment that a small portion of this nation is getting assisted. The MTC brand is a synergy to improving livelihoods, and we are happy to know that through sports and this investment we are playing our roles,” added Nerongo.

Over and above, Nerongo has promised netball fans an exciting season that will see teams playing more home and away games.

132 matches will be played in 22 weekends as the games offer the girl-child an opportunity to be engaged positively.

Before the league commences in March, the association has introduced a Fast-5 tournament which will only feature teams playing in the MTC Namibia Netball Premier League.

The winners of the tournament will walk away with N$15 000, which will help with expenditure ahead of the start of the league on the 4th of March.
