The girls’ first round at the Billabong ASP World Junior Championships in Sydney, Australia, remains unfinished, as an increase in swell to two-and-a-half meters saw the boys’ junior surfers finish their second round amid raging currents and an exhausting paddle out on Day 2 on Friday.

With both South Africans Tarryn Chudleigh and Nikita Robb having finished their first round heats in good form despite tough opposition, they will be anxiously awaiting their return to the surf.

Robb finished second in her opening heat and advances to the third round for further contest, while Chudleigh, who finished third in her heat, will have to survive an elimination second-round heat to progress.
