Olympic qualifier Isabel le Roux has recorded a good win at
the 2008 Jozef Odlozil Memorial Athletics meeting, in Prague on Monday evening, when she won the
200m in 23.31 seconds.
African champion Isabel le Roux, who ran in only her second
200m race since arriving in Europe a few weeks ago, recorded a clear win in
23.31 seconds, and also beat 400m compatriots, Estie Wittstock (23.99 sec) and Tsholofelo
Thipe (24.09), who finished fourth and fifth.
Sandwiched in between them were Vida Anim of Ghana (23.54 sec), and Yuliya Irkhina of Ukraine (23.95
sec).
The other South African women in action were hurdler Janet
Wienand, who clocked 58.68 sec in the 400 hurdles, and javelin thrower Sunette
Viljoen, whose best throw of the day measured 57.72 metres, more than 11m
behind the performance of global star, Barbora Spotakova of Czech Republic, who
won with 68.81m.
