Preview: Gymnastics Games

The third combined National Gymnastics Games will be held from the 20-26 September 2006 at the Bellville Velodrome.


Around 3000 gymnasts from South Africa’s nine provinces will compete under one roof, for the title of National Champion in their respective age groups.


Trials for the African Championships will also take place during this competition.

This event will include competitions from our seven competitive disciplines namely; Artistic Men, Artistic Women, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Trampoline, Tumbling, Aerobic Gymnastics and Acrobatic Gymnastics.


The Opening Ceremony will take place on Friday, 22nd September and will commence at 19h00 with the African Championships launch.

National team members as well as gymnasts with disabilities will perform displays at the Opening Ceremony.

These displays will form part of the preparation for the FIG Gala which will be held in conjunction with the African Championships taking place in November 2006 at the Bellville Velodrome.
