As part of PUMA South Africa’s dedication to empowering and promoting women in sport, the sports company has signed a cooperation agreement with SPAR Proteas players Refiloe Nketsa and Elmeré van der Berg, which was announced on Thursday, 06 July 2023.
In the ever-expanding PUMA performance family, van der Berg and Nketsa join their SPAR Proteas teammates Bongi Msomi, Khanyisa Chawane, and Shadine van der Merwe. The national team, which will vie for glory at the 2023 Vitality Netball World Cup in Cape Town.
During the global showpiece, the national women’s netball team will wear a colourful playing kit designed by PUMA, one that van der Berg is looking forward to donning.
“It is beautiful, colourful and expresses the diversity of our Rainbow Nation,” said van der Berg.
Highlighting their decision to join the PUMA family, both van der Berg and Nketsa expressed their love for the brand, saying that they enjoy the variety of clothes and sneakers which fits their casual style with a sporty streak.
The Netball World Cup is currently 21 days away and the duo have been preparing for the showcase as they played in the recently concluded Telkom Netball League campaign.
Van der Berg turned out for the North West Flames, Nketsa for the Free State Crinums and now the two stars have a chance to make their mark on the global stage.
